Like many, I paused on ordering because of the numerous negative reviews.
However, being pretty handy I figured I could beef up anything as long is the parts were straight and not broken. So all worked out fine for this product.
Pros
- Average-to-good quality wood (probably a B class)
- Easy, in-line/straight set up (the screws went through the holes cleanly)
- Portability (would be easy to disassemble and move)
- Good quality cover (I was actually very pleasantly surprise by this)
- Time... time... time... (as shipped, sets up in 30 minutes or less)
- Price (very good value for cost of materials and setup time)
Cons
- All joints/connections double stapled rather than nailed
- No glue on joists
- 3 or 4 of the slats were pretty warped and/or bowed
- Not enough slats in my opinion for a latex mattress (I've read the gap should be about 2 inches; these would be 3 to 3 1/2)
